I’m so excited for the New Year and really spending more time with the blog and reaching out to community organizations. I contacted another one today, in hopes what I’ve collected so far and what donations I know are coming, can be of help to them.
I was sad to get an email from my first organization, telling me they truly aren’t set up for accepting donations at this time. I did leave my information with them a second time, in hopes they’ll remember me if a Mother comes to them in need of help. I hope to help someone soon…
Last night I got the most encouraging email; I’m a member of an online message board for mom’s and have had this blog link posted for over a month now. Just in hopes someone may read it and be inspired to give in their communities too. Well I got an email from an awesome gal from Ohio who wants to send a package of goodies to donate!!! I was so excited to read her story about her two daughters and inspired by it, too. I got another email just this morning with a Mom of a Kindergarten age boy who has items to give as well.
God is good!!! I’m hopeful to have an organization or two to post links to and begin regular donations to, soon after the first of the year.

How to Donate, What to Donate
I'm currently trying to contact a few non profit organizations to inquire about donations and how I can begin a relationship with them to continue dontations regularly. But until then, I'd LOVE to receive whatever donations you can give. I plan to collect items anytime, anywhere someone is willing to give and once I find an organization OR an individual in need, I'll give whatever I can/have that will help. Obviously right now, I'm not a 'real' organization, so I have no ability to offer tax slips, but I know you can claim some dontations on your tax returns without receipts. I would encourage you to give anyway...it just feels good!
Some things I've pulled aside the past week or two, to donate are: my size newborn-3 months clothes (my kiddo's will never be born small enough to fit them), 2 cans of infant formual my daughter is not in need of, two packages of diapers that are not the brand we use and some of my daughters clothes she's recently grown out of. I'm also going to go thru some of my daughter's stuffed animals.
In this time of year, I'd love to encourage you if you're reading this, to go thru your childs outgrown items or old toys. Please give what you can, no donation is too small. Gentiley used items are key; my hope is to give another Mother the ability to be proud of what she's provided for her loves one and we all know it feels good when our little ones have nice clothes and working toys.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or if you have a donation you'd like to arrange a pick up of. If you know a mother in need, I'd love to help! Please email me her situation or what her needs are and I'll do whatever I can to help!
Thank you for reading my blog and for whatever you can give.

a heavy heart and my inspiration
Let me just start by telling my story into what I've started to call "MommyWood" which I define as my life as a mother, wife, and "mommy friend".
My husband and I were married in May of 08 and a short five months later found out we were expecting our surprise first child. My pregnancy was easy by definition; the usual morning sickness that sometime went into the afternoon and evening, above average weight gain due to a love of Starbucks Green tea frappicinos, and lots of belly kicks, turns, and swirls. After 41weeks 3days of pregnancy, I had a scheduled C-Section due to our little Peanut's size. After 36 hours of unmedicated (not totally 'hard') labor, our Princess Emily was born! 9lbs 10oz and 20.5 inch long. She was prefect and we felt SO blessed.
Both my husband and I lost our jobs within weeks of Emily's due date, so we went into our new life as parents, with little in savings, even less in income, and bills bills bills. Becoming a Stay At Home Mom by default, I've enjoyed every minute of my time with Emily and with my husband home to help. Hard times have hit, the money's running out and the pressure is on. We are making due and have a plan and hope and pray every day for the Lord's grace, guidance, and vision for our family's future.
Having money troubles, unable to pay bills, and feeling sometimes as though we can not provide for our little Princess the way we'd always dreamed of, has put a weight on my heart. A weight to help those who are struggling more then we are. Now that I'm a Mother, I know what it is to desire nothing more then to see my child happy, healthy, and wanting for nothing and I believe this is something every mother should be able to fulfill. The peace of mind and lightness of heart to know that their child is properly dressed, diapers, and has a full belly, is something I want to give every Mother in my community the ability to feel.
My vision for this blog, is to be a place to inspire other Mother's to give to those in need. "those" being, other Mommy's who need a little extra help providing the necessities for their little one(s). It is my hope not just friends and family will donate, but that the love we have for our children as mothers, will inspire everyone who comes in contact with someone in need.
